Not true now, I'm pretty sure that in the UK all models will have that grille.

Think the two model lines are SE and AMG Sport both have the big star grille and lose the bonnet star!

Correct and for once I prefer the non sports look

Only the 'Sport' model has the big grill remember...
I think you will find that ALL UK market cars come as standard with the sport grille. NO CHOICE Its one of the things I was banging on about on the other thread. :dk: I think the German basic spec model and the Elegance models come with the traditional grille and dare I whisper it--- the option of 16" wheels. check the German Konfigurator

Just as in the case of the C class revamp in summer 2012 there is no configurator currently available on the UK site for the new model. This is a good indicator that models offered in the UK are completely different from other markets [trim options and engines] Lets hope they don't take 2-3 months to get it up and running like last time!

Ironically I think that unlike the old car the sports grille suits the new E class front end better than the traditional grill :o but that doesn't detract from the principle that prospective customers shouldn't be offered the choice.:thumb:

ps you can still get the traditional grille and bonnet emblem by upgrading the SE C class with the "luxury package" but costs a substantial £2000 [ does include 17"alloy wheels and extra trim also]

Its possible the same type of traditional "package" may be eventually offered on the E class at extra cost of course.

Considering you dont like it, your posting enough pictures of it :D

haha..

purely in the interest of contribution to the forum community..

with out us, the forum would not be here, and i like this place, as when the time is right, im sure i can give you lot an argumentative point about me, my cars, my choices, or something else lacking in your lives that appears to be in my life that you all need to have a stab at :dk:

for now.. im sharing what i find, as i am still perplexed to what they have done this to the 212..

In those photos it looks LESS appealing than when I've seen it previously.

I think I need to see it in the metal before deciding.

Edit: Somehow I missed pages 2 and 3! Edging towards a thumbs up so voting that way.

I think it looks a bit bland compared to the original version, it has lost the character at the front and the rear wheel arches.

will it become a classic like the 280se of 1972.NO but it is better than a BMW thats for sure.
