I have a 59 plate w212 sport, only thing I would love to have from 2013 facelift are the headlights an tail lights..seen a white 2013 model weeks back at night, the lights looked awesome especially the tail lights!

I'm 49 and I agree with you...seems we are in the minority my friend. I ordered one anyway, my first MB too :bannana:
Not alone - a vote for here:
As a soon to be 54 year old Mercedes owner, (def didn't want a BMW or Audi) the thing that attracted me to go with an E Class is this new look, the pre facelift just looked old fashioned to me and didn't grab me at all. And then driving it just sold me there and then ....

Get mine - 250 CDI SE Estate - in Nov/Dec; can't wait which is why I am trolling this club to get my daily fix now while I wait (:>)

OK, so I might be a bit biased as I have just picked up my E63 (latest model).

Previous versions looked dated by comparison and this model now brings the E class bang up to date. I personally think it is gorgeous.
I was looking at the previous version and wasn't sure I liked the look. I then got an offer on a 3 month old car, went to view it, and fell in love.
It is a stunning car, don't know if that is because it is an E63, but I assume that as it is so understated that other 'E' models won't be too far different.

My last 4 cars have been Mercs and I am afraid this is the one that pushes me elswhere, an XF or a nearly new XJ. I am 47 but feel 25 and this front end is much too Euro-bland to cut it, I don't anticipate a long time before it is redone.
I have really tried to force myself to consider the CLS but that 4 seat thing, its a killer !

I prefer the early 212, the facelift version looks too "aero".

I find it surprising that in such a large market as the U.K., the traditional grill is not offered. Maybe Mercedes are trying to change their image to a more youthful one by slowly moving away from the star-on-the-bonnet.

Out market here in Canada is much smaller. The C-class is offered with both the traditional grill and the sports grill at no extra charge, and practically every every since C-class is sold in the sports grill. It seems that nobody really cares. They may be betting on the same on with E-Class as well.

Unfortunately for me, I won't be buying the facelifted E unless they offer the traditional grill. I will stick with my pre-facelift W212 for a while.....

How many different headlight options are there also? I swear I've seen almost half a dozen different styles of headlights now. From Daytime running lights as a single diagonal slit in the inside of the headlight to DRLs as large diagonal slits in the big lens and small lens, and from LED headlights when on to what looked like a tacky aftermarket HID kit I once bought from Dagenham market when I was 17.
