Hi Guys
I have noticed that on the new engine OM651, the engine cover is held in place with some rubber grommets that fit over a ball socket.
On mine the rubber grommets are worn away, and the engine cover is loosely sitting on top.
Problem is that it sits lower when these grommets are worn and on mine is now resting on a wiring harness, which it will eat through over time.
I didn't take any pics, but I would imagine this is a common issue. Mine is a C class, but guess it would be the same for any other body variant?
My car has just been collected for a service, I am hoping they replace the grommets under warranty.
Might be worth you checking yours.
