227 Red/Scarlet Designo SRS Door badge anyone?

Guys, for the few of you that know I have a red and black Designo interior on my CLK. The passenger SRS Airbag door badge clip is mostly broken and the badge doesnt sit properly in the door so went to merc for a new one.. easy so far... however.

1/. The above aren't made any more by Merc unfortunately 2/. Seems they're ridiculously rare and no ones ever seen my interior before 3/. Theres not been any on trusted ebay lol.. If any of you know of one il snap it off you..

the other options are of course buy a normal none red designo badge cut the clip off it and glue it on my designo red badge as the front is fine. 2nd option is replace both badges with chrome oness but i fear this will look cheap and crap.

I think the interior colour code for the red/scarlet is 227 looking at my data sheet so if any of you know of one id appreciate it .

I thought Designo trim colours started with an X followed by 2 digits?

really not sure, I initially thought it was a standard colour option as all avantgarde 208's can be two tone and the colours were picked as those colours on mine at the time but then a parts guy at whitefields mercedes in manchester said it was Designo so not sure. Still want a badge though haha.

Not knowing how these clips fix to the panel, it sounds like buying a standard black one and trying to fix the front of yours to it may be the best bet. It's certainly worth a try as the one you have already is damaged?

looking at he back its just plastic that sticks out and you push into the hole in the door and the plastic clips retain against the panel, the clip is damaged but the front of the badge thats visible is absolutely fine luckily.

I have red leather with the standard black SRS badge, looks ok to me?

Although i state that it is a designo interior in that post , i'm pretty certain it isn't now.

The badges are still available , you have to order them with the colour code.

There are a few interiors around like this , it was a reasonably popular choice.

aaha yes exact same interior .. yeah im unsure about the designo thing too just from what the parts guy said.. am i right in saying then it is a 227A colour for the red and 220A for the black? maybe i should have stuck with my normal liverpool branch and not manchester haha.
