I have just brought this monitor as I had a 24" DELL some time ago and miss the 1920 X 1200 resolution for CAD, it also means I can have many many windows open at the same time, IE have media player playing some old movie, be surfing ebay while writing a document/designing webpage/playing in CAD, I can also fit more on my screen when running 1 app full screen, 2 whole pages of Microsoft word or webpage designer, (which is handy, 1 side HTML, the other IE showing the result,) or a lot of icons and still a big screen in my CAD program which in turn leads to better productivity, I paid £500 to have my dell about 18 months ago and I have just paid a whopping £250 for the privilege this time round, although it doesnt have the card reader, multi format input, USB hub or adjustable height which I never used so im not missing out, but in terms of screen quality, brightness and colour it is on a par, I comes very recommended, Ebuyer are also doing £200 24 inchers but with no DVI input, this, as far as I can see is the best price/performance/feature ratio or bang per buck!

they also have a forum where the geeks have been raving about it

I assume they know better then me on matters such as this so I brought one and I was not disappointed!

They look like rebadged ASUS screens.

The ASUS 22" monitors were a hit about ayear ago, so guess the 24" may follow suit.

Asus have recently updated their 22" screens (October 2007) - the new ones (VW222) are absolutely superb

Display resolution of 1650x1050 they are much brighter and faster than the older ones 2000:1 contrast and 5ms delay.

i couldnt live without any less than 2 screens these days.

Same here. I use a 22" Iiyama CRT monitor for photo editing (that's for my job) and a 19" Dell Ultrasharp LCD for everything else.

The low contrast and near-perfect colour rendition of the CRT is perfect for editing still images and watching video. The high contrast of the Dell LCD suits email, forums like these, general web surfing and office software.
