I had some new Michelin Pilot Sport 4S fitted to my C63 on Saturday, and it appears that on all the forums people are fitting 265's on the bike (over the OEM 255) and even in some cases, people are squeezing on 275's.

So opted for 265/30/19's on the back, and there seems to be a bit more tyre lip sticking out than I expected. It's obviously good for rim protection! But is this how everyone elses 265/30/19's look? Can anyone snap a pic to confirm they look the same?

Initial verdict on the grip vs the previous MPSS seems much improved.

I have the same tyre and size. Yes, Mine look like that also.

If you look on the edge of the tyre I think it says 'rim protector' or something similar.

I'm very happy with them. They seem to be wearing better than the conti4s

My 265 PS4S also looks like that. It's not because the tyre is too wide for the rim, it's the rim protector of the tyre which is by design. Nothing to worry about..

Thanks guys. I did consider it as rim protection, but just wasn't sure it was right as hadn't seen (paid attention) to anything like that before!

just for reference, in your case (265 mm is width at tread) 30 (30% of tyre width is side wall height) 19" (rim size) and as you have all said, that's a rim protector.
