2729 Engine

HI all

been a while,After some advise please looking to buy a 280 CLK on 07 plate ,reading your forums you all mention the balance shaft problems

still not sure if the one i am looking at, is in the affected range

it has an engine number of 2729 403 065 4112
hopefully some one could point me in the right direction

Remember on car forums you usually only hear about problems and bad news. It would appear how many (5%?) actually fail is a mystery.
Balancer shaft repairs is expensive, 7-10 years ago I was quoted around 2K£.
