Hi All
Can you fit 295 tyres safely on a 9 1/2 inch rim? or is it best to go for a 285 width

Thanks
Steve

just make sure you keep rolling radius in tolerance with the front wheels. There should be a 4% tolerance and with the width of the tyre going up the profile will change as the profile is a percentage of the width.

The generally accepted variation from the standard rolling radius is -/- 2.5%

I stand corrected sorry mate, i was told you could have as much as 4% but i had 3.3% before i changed to 19's and it ran without a problem. Its probably better sticking to the correct sizes either way.
