The RRP is £179!!!

LINK

This is the new shape 8GB Nano!

Worth a try, worse thing that can happen is they refund your card :)

Not eBay, but I thought this would be the best place to post it

Was £113.99 when I checked this morning. Now up to £159.99.

Good while it lasted but I shouldn't have hesitated. He who dares wins, Rodney...

I asked a friend who knows, and apparently this was a mistake - they meant to sell the 4Gb at this price, but the site showed the 8Gb. It's not certain whether they'll sell the 8Gb or refund the 4Gb, but good luck to you (the 8Gb is $249 here in the states, so if they send you it for that price then you've got US pricing with a UK warranty, good going :-)

I've got an email from Amazon confirming my purchase at £113.99 :bannana:

I won't hold my breath though, they're bound to try and wriggle out of the deal.

I thought I read somewhere that a retailler doesn't have to sell a product at the advertised price if the "wrong" price is obviously wrong, i.e. £200 instead of £2000, as this is only £50 out I may have a chance, fingers crossed !

I see deals like this all the time, will post them all in future

Excellent news - gutted I ummed and arred now!!

I reckon you should have a very good chance of it being honoured though, it's roughly in the right price bracket. I think you could also argue that you are used to Amazon prices being substantially lower than retail too - a 30% discount is not unheard of.

I believe in the UK it's all about 'contract of sale'. Many clever e-tailers will not enter a contract of sale until the very last minute before they pick from stock, to protect themselves from these issues.

I had some issues with Dell on this topic, when trying to get some machines that werew incorrectly priced.

Loosely, you may received a confirmation of receiving order, but it doesn't mean that they've entered into a contract of sale with you.

Spot on what Amazon's Terms & Conditions say:

Amazon.co.uk said:
13. Our contract

When you place an order to purchase a product from Amazon.co.uk, we will send you an e-mail confirming receipt of your order and containing the details of your order. Your order represents an offer to us to purchase a product which is accepted by us when we send e-mail confirmation to you that we've dispatched that product to you (the "Dispatch Confirmation E-mail"). That acceptance will be complete at the time we send the Dispatch Confirmation E-mail to you. Any products on the same order which we have not confirmed in a Dispatch Confirmation E-mail to have been dispatched do not form part of that contract.

According to this the contract is not accepted until the despatch email confirmation is sent.

However, take a look at the bold text below:

15. Pricing and availability

We list availability information for products sold by us on the website, including on each product information page. Beyond what we say on that page or otherwise on the website, we cannot be more specific about availability. Please note that dispatch estimates are just that. They are not guaranteed dispatch times and should not be relied upon as such. As we process your order, we will inform you by e-mail if any products you order turn out to be unavailable.

Despite our efforts, a small number of the millions of products in our catalogue are mispriced. Rest assured, however, that we verify prices as part of our dispatch procedures. If a product's correct price is lower than our stated price, we charge the lower amount and send you the product. If a product's correct price is higher than our stated price, we will, at our discretion, either contact you for instructions before dispatch or cancel your order and notify you of such cancellation.

Looks like we'll have to sit and wait for those dispatch emails to be received!!

I only wish I had opted for next day delivery, like a plank I took the free option which has an estimated dispatch of 19th Oct

A colleague of mine has recently taken delivery of a Dell system that was advertised, I think, with a 19" TFT screen but the price was without the screen. After alot of to'ing and fro'ing with emails he got the screen for free :)

Only 9 days to go..................

Another heads up,

Just been to TESCOs and seen that they are selling iPod Nano (1st Gen) silicon skins for £1!!!

Just tried it and it works great!

You haven't just joined R points by any chance Karl have you ? ;)

Well I sort of expected it -

Just received an email from Amazon pointing me to their Terms and Conditions regarding mis priced items

They've cancelled the order

But they've credited my account with £20 as a goodwill gesture:bannana:

Just have to stick with my 4 GB Nano, off to Tescos now to look for some skins !

£20 is not bad at all. To be honest they needn't have done that!!

No, but I will have a butchers

Well worth it, always loads of people discovering mispriced items and great offers ...

Gotta check it regularly ,some of the misprices last for less than a day , sometimes even hours before the mistake is discovered...

That Ipod was on there a while back ....

Nice! I got myself one of the new 4GB (RED) iPod Nanos this week. Seems like a nice unit.
