I changed the plugs the other day, first the autofactors gave me later car plugs with gasket. Then I got h7dc bosch ones. I removed from the car hr8dc plug's. The car now seems to run a little lumpy, should it have in h7dc, h8dc (gsf suggestion) or the removed hr8dc?? I understand from reading the hr plugs are resistive type?/

Any help appreciated.

I know nothing about plugs but can say wifes old e320 with 104 engine had std plugs i fitted fancy narrow tipped type and ran crap, back to std plugs and ran a treat again, also ate plugs liked, new ones very regular.

I think you have the wrong plugs. They should have a tapered seat NOT a washer!!!!! the MB manual suggests Bosch H8DCO from your Mb dealer or AN NGK equivalent is BP6EF available in HALFORDS You want the non resistor type as the plug lead has that built in.

The first plugs they gave me and I took back were the washer ones, I then got the req tapered ones. But like I say they are h7dc, so basically I will go get h8dc when I can. Bloody parts garages :(

Sorry was so alarmed when I read about the washer'd plugs felt I had to post quickly didn't read the post correctly. :o These older cars tend to run superceded plug types and the best place to get the closest to the originals is often the MB dealer.

Try GSF, and get the Beru ones - Sorry I can't remember the exact code but think it is BZ77.

The Bosch plugs now include a resistor and cause a variety of problems.
