Also has anyone spotted the 300ce AMG on ebay ? Looks lovely but would have thought that someone would have snapped it up by now if it's that genuine as the seller describes.
(item number 150347575525)

Thanks!

Thats stunning and fairly priced.

That car has been on ebay 2 or 3 times with different stories about the service history. Several threads about it exist.

Thanks. I was going through it with my father in law and both spotted the missing service history or lack of towards the end. I guess initially I was in awe of the comprehesive Chichester services.

I asked about the number of owners and got this reply:

"The car has had 3 previous owners the first being Mercedes Benz Portfied the second owned the car from March 1993 until the third owner purchased the car in Feb 1997 until we purchased it in November 1998"

Looks like the current owner hasn't looked after it as well as the previous owners. Also I don't like the fact that Mercedes owned it. It would have been a demo with the specification that it has got and therefore likely to be ragged when the engine should be running in.

Its looks nice,

Like the interior and too be honest would rather drive round and enjoy that than the 15K one in the other thread.

Imho it needs larger wheels and clear side indicators.

It does look really nice and despite some of the negative comments above, (which seem to be the norm for the Forum....i.e. .looking for the negatives rather than presenting both the negatives and positives), if you want a Coupe, it must be worth a look at so that you can decide for yourself.

Clearly the seller is trying to sell the vehicle and will therefore present it with the best, in his view, description that he can put together.

It is a Classified Ad, so normally you would view before making and offer.

Be positive guys, (well the ones of you who are negative), these are quality cars, were very expensive new, with last forever if looked after, are still great to drive with good running costs and sell for less than new Ford KA money.

I agree bill.

Sometime this forum (and its a British trait) we seem to put anything down.

Some people would find something wrong with anything and its unlikley as a bunch of people we would ever agree on anything... Makes for good threads though.

As for runing in comment, my colleague went to the Porsche factory in Germany once and during the tour they watched as cars literally drove off the production line and out on the road 2 mile straight and red lined in every gear. The reason being apparently if something is going to break then it will then.....

So their you go as you pick your 997 turbo up and run it in, its probably already been driven harder than you will ever...

With this being an auto surely its hard to really push it anyway, you cannot over rev it.

It looks a good example of this model if your after one. Well worth a look

Bill & A210AMG,

Call it negativity if you like but there's a reason (or more likely several reasons) why this car is on ebay time after time after time & remains unsold.

In my experience exceptional, low mileage, loved cars find new homes very quickly, regardless of whether the price, car unseen, seems toppy. Right or wrong, there are buyers for whom low mileage is the Holy Grail & who will pay way over the odds for it.

I hold W124s in very high regard & believe they are very well made, designed & screwed together. Nearly as good as W201s in fact, if less nimble. W124s have a strong, loyal following & I personally know several people who own decent examples & who would like nothing better than to find a timewarp condition car for, as you say, Ka money. They're so fond of their old W124 they'd like another one just the same, in better condition, with lower miles, rust free & with more years of life to give. Witness the prices (usually perceived on this forum as astronomical) Charles Ironside & Cheshire Classic Benz regularly achieve for their low mileage, creampuff cars.

The fact that the seller confirmed to me by email that he had not changed the oil in 6 years & very shortly thereafter lied amended his ebay listing to claim otherwise is enough to put me off but as you say, you have nothing to lose by going along and taking a gander.

If anybody does view it I'd be very interested to hear their appraisal.
