300CE or E220 Wanted

Hi Guys,

After being completely stitched up on my last merc buy - I thought I'd enquire through some of you lovely people to see if I can find a decent, well looked after car!

My 300CE has just failed it's MOT with flying colours and will cost approx £1200 to put right...great! With that in mind, I want to buy a new one.

So.... if anyone has a 300CE, 320CE or E220 that they're looking to sell for around £1k then please email me. I know it's not a lot but it's all I've got.

I would guess at the 1k price you may well end up with another problem car. Not tempted to spend that 1k on getting your car fixed, or have you had enough?!

I was tempted to get the car fixed but there's a few other probs too tbh. The windows/heater/rear window/leak/front tires/stereo are all shot so even if I spend the £1200 - I'd still need to spend another 500+ getting it all working properly. Also - some respraying needs doing too. If I spent 2k getting it up together, then I'd have to do that too - possibly another £500 or more?

I'd rather try and start again with a more sound car and go from there. I might not be able to do it but it's worth a shot I suppose?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not looking for a minter for that price, just one with a few less problems really.

Yep - you got it, that's the one on gumtree! I thought about breaking it but I just don't have the time to be honest. Or the tools come to think of it

Yeah I saw Mike's one on ebay but he's all the up in Barrow in Furness which is miles from me in Hampshire. Gutted - I was in Barrow 2 weeks ago as well! Damn it.....

If you can stretch your budget at all I'm taking offers on my 320CE on Autotrader at the moment at £2600....Can't seem to get the link to work but it's the blue 5 speed on at that price. If you do want take a look, make sure it's not raining.....

It looks lovely mate but It's out of my price range I'm afraid. I just can't stretch that far at the mo. Gutted, it looks lovely. I'll let you know if I can get the money together somehow...

Check autotrader religiously, morning noon and night, there was a lovely W124 E280 I think on there recently for £1500ono, be patient, keep looking and you will find a good car for around £1000,

I originally only paid £875 for my white E220 coupe...off of ebay. Had it 16 months, inside was immaculate, had a little rust done on the wings and sold it for £1400 with 12 months mot and tax last month....Keep looking but there great cars...i do miss it though
