Hi all I'm servicing my 300ce24v tomorrow. I will be doing the oil and filters + the antifreeze. First of all which antifreeze/coolant is good for my car. And will 5w 30 oil with mb 229.1 spec be ok or would it be better to use 10 40 oil. I normally use German and Swedish. Once the coolant is drained then topped up Will it need bleeding, if so is there a bleed nipple or can it be bled from the reservoir cap. Also is slick 50 oil treatment any good or is it a load of b****ks.

Don't worry about slick 50, your car does not need it.

Use 10W40 oil with the 229.1 spec for your engine.

Get the coolant from MB. It is not expensive and is the proper stuff. Just drain and fill 50/50 and run the heater at full wack, road test and then top up. Job done.

Also think about the fuel filter. I overlooked that and its recent replacement has been a revelation.

coolant should be drained from radiator AND block.

block tap is under inlet manifold, so needs wheel off and jacking to gain access.

12 mm and 14 mm (inlernal) hoses to drain without making mess.
