300D oilcooler Continued the saga unfolds ITS DOING MY HEAD IN

I have recently aquired an oil cooler via ebay from a 1993 300D, does anyone know where this is supposed to go, (my guess is vertically alongside the radiator) and what is envolved in the fitting ? as I will not be fitting this myself but would like to know whats involved so as to not getting ripped of by my usual mechanic as his prices seem to be getting very hefty. my car is a 1988 300D. your thoughts and advice welcomed please. :D

Thanks Guy for the detailed drawing, but the oil cooler i 've bought is long (the length of the car 's radiator and about 4 inches wide) and thin. which led me to believe it should be mounted at the side of the radiator.

if i remember correctly it sits underneath the radiator. But only vaguely remember..

Either there or just in front, which is why air con and tow-bars are a problem on some cars.

Does any one Know where this oil cooler I bought on ebay is supposed to go and what it attaches to and is connected to. It came off a 1993 300D I have tried to get it fitted to my 1988 300D by my local garage but they said its too wide to go at the side of the radiator and mounting it under the radiator limits the ground clearance .I don't have any mounting attachments and the hoses are too short any help would be greatly appreciated . :o
