Hi all,

Anyone know how the lettering and badges are held at the back please?

I have to remove them before she goes in for a re-spray

It's just self-adhesive sticky goo.

A hair dryer to soften it, and then an old credit card and some gentle underside nudging should shift it.

Degreaser or foam cleanser works to get the sticky residue off.

But surely the bodyshop can do this for you?

Oh - the mercedes star itself tends to be held in with a sort of plug mechanism, and possibly a screw from behind - I'm not familiar with the E class, but the badges on the left and right of the boot lid will just be stuck on with double-sided sticky tape type stuff.

Looks like theyve already been disturbed in the past because "turbodiesel" ought to be one long word - or maybe mines wrong?

You can 'saw' the badging off in a few secs with dental floss.
