I have a 300TE Estate - 1990 - Single cam engine
When I "turn the key" the engine fires once then dies and then will not (fire), start - maybe once a week it will fire and continue to run and I can drive the car.........but every other day it will not fire at all and the engine will not run
There is a smell of fuel and I suspect that the engine is "flooding" - I have tried starting it with my foot "full to the floor" - but no luck.........normally it starts without touching the accelerator pedal
Is there a "cold start" mechanism on this engine - if so can someone tell me where it is, what it looks like and if I can disconnect it.
Any other ideas - help!
