hi all
I have a sl 350 04 reg,I love the car and in the next few years would like to tour europe in it but 24 mpg is not an option. Is 320 diesl conversion an option ensure Rev counter etc work.Maybe crazy but i have three years before the planned trip to do it

Any info would be welcome

I would think 24mpg, is well worth it, compared to the value of a converted diesel SL.:ban:

Get a life, and start to live it.

Don't do it! If you must----- convert it to LPG. You might even be able to sell it afterwards--- at a push.

I have an SL500 and a Vito with the 3.0 V6 CDI. On a long run the SL gives better MPG (and of course diesel is more expensive than petrol ...).

Unless you are planning to take in the moon on your trip the savings on increased mpg will be totally wiped out by the cost of the conversion:doh:

And the loss of value if/when you sell it.

And the increased insurance (as a 'modified car').
