I have noticed when I start the car from cold that the engine doesn't seem to fire up cleanly, it is a bit lumpy for a few seconds but is then ok and runs normally. Is this normal or could I have a problem.

    Thanks

Normal. Mine does it in the winter - had it with all diesels. They like to be warm.

Not all diesels do it, my previous Audi diesel started just like a petrol engine. Also, it's not winter yet so if starting is hesitant now whats it going to be like when the cold weather arrives. I have an issue with soot buildup as well so I might book it in to be looked at.
