W211 V6 cdi
Hi,

My problem is on a W211 320cdi V6 (2008) for which I don't find a solution in the existing treats.

In the morning, the car will not start immediately, but when you preheat 3 or 4 times before starting, it starts without any problem.

Because the glow plug controller is a common problem on this model, I have replaced it first, however, the problem remains.

I have measured the glow plugs, they all are 1.2 Ohm.
There's no error on the dashboard, the glow plug light acts normal.
The voltage on the glow plugs when preheating is 1.6 Volt. I think this should be around 5V??
Replacing the controller does not change anything.

Is there any reason why the glow plug controller would only give 1.6 Volt??

Thanks!!
Dennis

Did you use a genuine (modified) glow plug control unit?

Hi, I ordered one from Beru itself, the GSE114. The one I had installed was Mercedes, 642 900 58 01.
Both only give 1.6 Volt to all plugs.

When I keep on preheating for about 10 seconds (while light is already out) it starts perfectly normal!
Temperature is about 12°C in the morning.

Indeed, both are white.
