350sl boot not closing

After standing for 5 weeks the boot on my 2003 350sl would not unlock. I used the key to open it manually but now it won't close. I have checked the fuse for the soft close and disconnected then reconnected the battery but still no good. Any ideas please?

When you get the boot unlocked with the key measure the voltage of the battery. If you don't drive these cars much, they'll roast the rear battery. I just (yesterday) replaced the battery in my SL55. The car was acting super weird until i put a new battery on.
