Hi all,

I bought my Father an Acer Aspire One ZG5 laptop for his holiday. He contacted me yesterday saying how can he get the SIM card option to work. The salesman that sold my the thing said it was a 3G laptop. So what does this mean? Can my Father insert a SIM and access mobile internet?

He says he clicks a program called globetrotter and it says insert SIM.....

I'm not 100% there with computers so simplified answers please:p

I dont know the actual laptop you have, but yes many now come complete with a hsdpa 3G modem on board, so he will need to locate this and fit his 3G sim card to utilise this feature

I see that some of the ACER models have the Sim slot located near (or behind) the battery so thats a good place to start looking :)

HP Laptops normally have the SIM slot located behind the battery, accessible only by removing the battery.
