412d sprinter. Struggling uphill

Hi _ first post
I am in the south of France with my family in an ex police 412d sprinter. 50,000 miles.
Having a couple of problems.
*It almost stalls when accelerating uphill under load. Recovers when you back off throttle.
* After warming up it won't stop when engine is switched off.

I've had a fiddle myself and found a split diesel return line. I've cut the bad out.
Any one any ideas. Thanks.

Turns out it was the light board on the back of the bike rack short circuiting when indicating - putting the van into limp mode. wierd. Removed light board - it was full with water.. Dried it - no problems.
I was indicating every time I was a accelerating.

Anyone had any experience of this sot of thing.
