42 Points. No ban.

The second you exceed the allowed speed, you should know this might be awarded with penalty points on your licence.

Whether it is 33 in 30, or 105 in 70 - by definition, you have comitted offence in both cases. Of course, the above two cases are different and should be treated as such.
But it still doesnt change the fact, these are both traffic offences nonetheless.

In my experience mobile speed traps have always been visible for some distance, allowing me time to slow down (and sometimes even smile and wave at the nice policeman!). But I'll admit, maybe I've just been lucky!

I think you have. The ones you describe are typically intended to deter, rather than catch a significant number of people (e.g. trafpol marked vehicle, and/or officer in hi-vis by the side of the road - if you're dozy enough to miss that then you deserve a FPN ;)). The other sort though are normally positioned so you can't see them till it's too late - coincidentally I passed one like that yesterday morning.

I never speed and deem it unnecessary and stupid to do so. Why would you risk others' lives just because you're in a hurry? I actually think most people speed regardless of whether they need to be somewhere or not, which makes it even more stupid!
It's no wonder most accidents happen on the roads when there's hordes of self centered speeding idiots about... Decrease the maximum number of points and increase the fines!
