420se exhaust mods tomorrow

I'm going to my friends workshop to use his ramp tomorrow.

The rear silencer is not very good and looks about ready to fall off. I'm planning to chop this out and put in something that will bring out some more of the V8's grumble.

I'm thinking I will keep the two u-bends and just lose the original box. Take the two pipes after the axle through a Y piece to a single pipe. Then a smaller silencer that will just remove some of the rougher noises but let the V8 burble through.

I have a choice of 3 different silencers to try, so hopefully by tomorrow evening I will have a homebrew exhaust im happy with. If its a failure i will just have to buy a new one.

Well, its done. I just went from a Y-piece to a single slightly larger pipe, no silencer required. I put in a couple of bends to get it lined up with the bumper cut out.

Very happy with the result, a deeper burble when accelerating but silence at 70mph.
