hi i need to replace the outer cills on my 450 slc. mb ones are about £230 plus each but after market ones can be had for £80 ish. my question is dose anyone have any experience of the cheaper cills ie fit/quality etc or should i just bite the bullet and get mb ones thanks

The MB ones will fit perfectly, the pattern ones may not. However, if you have a good bodyshop doing the work they will be able to make them fit properly. It may cost a little more in labour but could save you in the long run.

Pattern ones are nothing like the quality of the originals. It's a hell of a lot of work and you only want to be doing it once......

ive recently had some pattern sills for my W115, the quality of the pressing was good however the metal is noticably thinner. Its only recommended to use reproduction sills for partial replacement

skillful welder can fix areas in patching with heavy guage steel, i used it before
