I was putting the shopping away in Tescos, when a gent who parked his Peugeot 406 HDI next to our C220 CDI (2001) came back with a trolley piled high with veggie oil.

He proceeded to empty five 5 litre bottles of veg oil into his tank. I started a conversation and he said he's been using veggie oil in his Pug for over a year now, mixing 90% veggie oil and 10% diesel and has had no problems.

Anybody know anything about running veggie oild 50/50 with diesel in a MB engine, say a C220 CDI (2001)?

:)

Did you clock what type/brand he was using? This definatly on my todo list once I have my E320 CDI sorted out

Wow, that is one heck of a research paper! Thank you for the link.

Thanks for the link, i've skimmed through the paper and i'm reading from it that CDi engines need certain modifications to run efficiently and safely and that it causes damage, what does everybody get from it?
