Had my car back to the dealer for a couple of issues
It got a new suspension arm and a re-alignment
It also got a new xenon bulb --- a receipt for parts was left in the car and shows the bulb came in at £49!!

How come??

I've seen xenon bulbs on ebay at a quarter of the price

Cheers

There has to be a ''How many £s does it take to change a Mercedes lightbulb?'' gag there somewhere.
Perhaps now isn't the best time..

The dealer wasn't MB
Just a local fella who has a forecourt with @ 30 cars
When i got the car --i got 3 months warranty and bought a further 9 months from Black Horse for £200 thru him
He'd obviously got the parts from a local car accessories shop

So i presume the cheap xenons on ebay are just that----cheap crap!!

cheers

Hi,
Have to agree £49 is not a bad price for a branded discharge lamp.
I found a place that has them for £20 a pair (unbranded) if anyone is interested.

Not price at all. Looks like they applied dealer/staff discount as everyone said before its usually more money.

Sounds like someones halogen a laugh.....

I'm staggered.....at how cheap that sounds. Several years ago, I was quoted over £100 for a Xenon bulb to fit my Vauxhall Vectra.

Well the new bulb matches my existing one perfectly in white light and intensity.

Thats good, as they say that an old lamp can be a different colour to a new one, and recommend replacing in pairs because of this.
