What about this one peeps Just been reduced from £9,950

Mercedes-Benz E Class 5.4 E55 AMG 4dr

Looks lovely but abit put off by the Mot history stating a Oil leak :/

Any input much apreciated:thumb:

I sold that car to a customer a year ago, was a nice car back then. He's since sold it to the chap up in Hull, and it seems it's had a decent amount of service work carried out on it since.

Perhaps the oil leak was from the cam cover gaskets which have since been sorted.

To me it looks a decent enough car - not keen on the (illegal) tints etc but it seems well cared for an looks tidy, cheap too I would say.

Sounds and Looks a nice car from the add, But the fact he has neglected to mention the advisories on the Mot and the oil leak which could be coming from anywhere i think im going to pass. If it was a little closer and not the potential 400 mile round trip i'd go and view it.

Again thanks for everyone's input always good to get a unbiased opinion :)

All M113s leak oil. There's oil leaks and 'oil leaks'. I've never seen a spot on a road/parking space/garage etc but the misting you get around cam covers/filler etc is completely normal. I've had M112/113s from 6/7 years old with lowish mileage (60/70k) up to 150k+ and they've all been superb reliable engines.

Contact the seller and express your concern - if he's genuine I'm sure it won't be difficult to explain/resolve. Don't write a car like this off for that - it's silly IMHO when it's practically the least of concern compared to other stuff!

I very much doubt you will find a better example for the price 400 miles is nothing, jump in a train.

If I was looking for an E55K, I'd definitely be having a good look at that one.

If the car was local id probably go and buy it to put it back into stock.

Let me know if you come accross anything similar in stock aka$h:thumb:

If Aka$h was retailing it, I guess it wouldn't be sub-£9k.

As a private sale priced keenly you are going to have to accept a few minor issues/niggles. I really would seriously consider speaking to the seller if you're after a 211 E55 - £8700 is cheap enough, maybe some wiggle room price wise which would give you a slush fund to give it a once over :)

Anyone retailing a car like this will have obviously spent some money on prep, and allow for any issues once sold. Then they need to build into the price a profit margin.

Not sure what your budget will stretch to but I don't think you'll get a nice one retailed with warranty for sub-£9k? They're usually £2/3k more at least?

Yes 10k at a dealer is exceptable, Its just buying one from a decent dealer is the hard part

Even £10k examples from dealers won't be perfect though. That one has quite a few advisories from the last MoT test too for wheels bearings, brake pipes and windscreen damage - nothing unusual but what I'm saying is surely you'd be better off saving £1-2k up front and having a slush fund?

The other car you posted has just had new plugs, intercooler pump and other bits going by the advert. Aka$h has vouched for the car too - just can't understand on the face of it why you're not contacting the seller to query those points.

Travel wise, my last three AMG cars came from Lancaster (500 mile round trip), Dawlish (350 miles) and near Scotland/Cumbria borders. With specialist cars like these you really do have to travel IMHO :)
