^6 stack cassette stuck in player

Might try and get the thread back on track, have fully dismantled unit and sprayed everything with electrical cleaner and then white silicon grease, re-installed and cassette ejects every time now but unit is still not being recognized by head unit, just continues to say scanning, please wait. CDC is on screen and whenever you press it, it just keeps saying scanning, please wait. Cannot hear any cd's loading. I'm in a dilemma because if I do just buy another one online, what's to say its the unit itself and not my head unit. Would love to keep it but if no-one can offer anything that I am missing, I think I have lost the battle.
