6 year old mags

have just bought a 6year old E220 cdi and two of the mags are perfect and the other two are totally rubbish is this normal for alloy wheels only to last 4/5 years and do you think MB will renew free ???

Are they really mags...ie magnesium alloys, or just the normal aluminium ones?
