I need a set of 4 airbags for my 1970 Mercedes 600 swb Limousine. Can someone pls advise me of the best source.
I also want to change my original grey velour interior to leather, with the correct perforated panels, and need to know where ( other than Mercede$$$ ) I can order these from ?

Have looked at the airbags for signs of the manufacturer and possibly a part number?

That would be the logical approach to finding out if they are even available. As airbags have a shelf life I wouldn't be surprised if they are no longer made or stocked.

It is of course possible that they were fitted to other Mercedes vehicles and other brands of vehicle which may help with your search

With the interior trim I doubt Mercedes would hold stock so would suggest either finding a donor car although unlikely or getting quotes from a specialist car trimmers. I cannot imagine either option being particularly cheap.

Someone once said that, in the event of problems with MB suspension of this sort, you can do worse than consulting an old school Citroen specialist.

Do you know the part number of the things you seek? If so, start Googling, particularly in Germany.

Regarding re-trim, people on the UK boards swear by D Class.

Good hunting.

Another recommendation for D class, perfect work using the correct leather for the age of the vehicle, and they have previously done a W100.

I would be contacting Iain Tyrrell regarding the suspension Home - Iain Tyrrell
(He also has a very interesting YouTube channel)

I've heard (Jeremy Clarkson?) that the ultimate UK 600 specialist is John Haynes in Worthing. I used him back in the late 70s and more recently in 2011. Honest, excellent work, but don't expect discount prices. But with a 600 I don't suppose that you do!

I've heard that he also has an impressive stock or genuine, rare MB parts.
