600 SEL 722.4 gearbox flaring between 2nd and 3rd gears

Hi everyone,

Another little niggle for which I hope your collective wisdom will have an answer:

When cold, the gearbox in my 600 has started flaring on the 2/3 shift.

By flaring, I mean that instead of revs tracking as follows:

0-2500/shift point-1000

I witness

0-2500/shift point-3500-1000

The 1/2 shift seems fine, and the 3/4 shift too.

Any ideas as to what may bring about this behaviour? Like the separate disappearing coolant post I've just made, I'd love to get some insight before I take her to the mechanics.

possibly your coolant is mixing in with the ATF fluid, think it happens sometimes as the 2 can mix if the seals fail on the trans cooler
