Back in the early 90's this car must have cost more than an average house in the UK?

Has he got his facts right about an 1991 car costing £128000 ??
What would that be in todays money and what would you get for that I ask..

They did cost over £100k when new.

They cost 100k in 1996 .However In 1991 it cost 88k - which is coincidentally 128k in todays money.Don't know what extras can account for the extra 32k
Surprised car is not white - v popular colour for Arabs

so in todays money an S600 is cheaper to buy. However the S65 must be equivalent cost wise.

Closest equivalent to S65 was a 450SEL 6.9 - which was 118k in todays money - so S65 more expensive.
A 1966 280SE 3.5 Cabriolet was 66k in todays money - close enough to a 70K CLK63 Cabriolet.
A SL Gullwing from 1954 was only 107k todays money - way cheaper than equivalent Mclaren SLR
