Hi All,

Will have to change my 124 300D 606 sump gasket at the next service, is this as easy as it sounds with home garage tools or is there some fiddling to do??

Thanks

Paul

Do you really need to change it? If it is like other Mercedes it will be a pain and you can guarantee that there will be some bolts that you cannot get at without removing the front axle.

You need to lift the engine up a fair way to change the sump gasket, so unless it is leaking I would leave it alone.

Thanks for the info - it does seem to be leaking, enough to leave drops on the pathway overnight which is more than a little annoying...
I'll have another look come service time and see how bad the leak is after retorquing the bolts at the weekend.
