Had reason to be at the dealers very early today and waited whilst they fixed my car.

The glass palaces give a panoramic view.......

Over the hour and half counted 7 different fairly recent vehicles of differing class (A, C, E, G) arriving on various recovery trucks. Curiosity got the better of me and asked if they were in for repair or ??? The reply "Nah, all gremlins or problems......you should see it on a Monday morning"

Thinking about it, suppose this is probably common. just surpised me.

It's amazing that after 25 odd years of smart electronic control manufacturers are still making vehicles so vulnerable. It's not a difficult formula; don't get stuff wet or hot. So they put things behind wheel arch liners where it's nice and damp. Turbos have servo motors for wastegates and variable vane throttling bolted to them and all systems go through one master ready to render the vehicle useless when something goes wrong.
It is almost as if the head of design in all the relevant departments retire before they manage to pass on their experience to the new boys.
