Any recommendations?
I have a 13 CL63 and the box change seems a little strange at times.
Or is it a case of getting MB to do a software update?

MB dealer, or a specialist with STAR and subscription.

And ask also for ESM software update at the same time they update the TCU.

But keep in mind that there are other factors to consider, including ATF and filter change etc. On a standard car the service interval for the 7g+ box is 5 years or 75k miles, not sure though ig it's the same for AMG cars.

Thanks Mark

What's ESM?

Are you suggesting the ATF could need changing and causing an issue?

It's just had it's 5 yr service but don'y think they changed the oil.

Could try doing a reset. Disconnecting the battery??
Yes i did do that.

Gearbox isn’t terrible but just gave an idea that the latest update would sort little odd things.

I did this with an M3 and it was night and day.

Also with the SLS back at the factory. Superb

ESM - Electronic Selector Module - basically it's the electronics under the gear selector lever. Mine is made by the german manufacturer Cherry (of the kyboard fame)....

As for ATF and filter change, possibly it's due every 3 years on AMG cars, I do not know. But definitely by year 5 it should have already been done at some point, so check the car's service history. This, and the ATF level (i.e. in case of a leak), could affect smooth shifting.

I’m not to sure about the updates done by the dealers as I have a pre facelift c63 that can’t be updated. But I have read that on the newer cars it makes a big difference. Not sure if this helps?

My ATF and filter change was just performed at year 4 - B2 Service 35k miles - it can make quite a difference

According to BlackC55, B2 is service B plus brake fluid and sunroof lubrication.... was the ATF change brought forward due to rough shifts?

No, no rough shifts- when I checked service lite it did state ATF change for mine

MB did a TCU/ECU software update on my now ex 2013 C63 about 12 months ago.
This was done in response to concerns I had raised about general gearbox recalcitrance especially under “pottering around” conditions. MB made it clear that this software update was an optional upgrade rather than admitting there was a fault with the transmission ie it was done on my ticket and not under warranty. In any case there was a very noticeable improvement in transmission behaviour and well worth doing.
