This is my first ever posting, me and computers don’t get on very well.

My SLK32 is suffering from the occasional harsh gear change. Having read many articles decided to replace the PWM solenoid. Whilst at it thought might as well change the 3 shift solenoids as well whilst it’s all apart.

I’ve taken the valve body out and checked the part numbers for the solenoids. Found 3 new Mercedes shift solenoids on eBay with the correct part number A2402701600. Only when I open the boxes the valves have the number A2402700000 on them. I car to seem to find ref to that part number anywhere.

currently unsure wether to use them or send them back.

Also any recommendations for where I can get new parts from, most on the internet send to be in the USA

Welcome

Cannot hep on part numbers but I am sure someone will come on who has a copy of the Workshop Information System who can cross reference the part numbers. Mercedes ,like all manufacturers had a process of developing and upgrading parts and then giving new numbers.

As for new parts supply, have you asked a Mercedes dealer?

I my shift solenoids done, nd ive recently replaced the TCC solenoid too which was the cause for the Harsh gear change when cold. Car now drives absolutely like new, Feels like a brand new gearbox.

I will try local dealer tomorrow, if they are open.

Yes hopefully replacing the solenoids and some nice new fluid will cure the problem.

IIRC the transmission solenoids are the same, EXCEPT for the TC solenoid which has a lower resistance and is powered by a
P WM ( pulse width modulation) control, which means it can be a bit on at times.
