7G transmission service kit - Meyle any good?

It’s not unknown, that a complete flush can make the gears slip, depending on mileage and age of fluid, as all the little contaminants are removed, which could have been helping to stop the slippage, on a worn transmission.

Is that still true for modern units like this one? I thought that didn't really apply anymore.

Have you any evidence of this?

Good luck the parts might be ok in your case ..i go merc whenever possible .
Cheers, yeah in hindsight I probably should've, its pretty much the same price. I could've sourced a new overflow and torque converter bolt for a few extra pounds and had the real deal. I made a mistake in thinking the MB price was for less oil, which was pointed out on here :wallbash: but oh well, it's actually still all very cheap for a "premium" brand.

I used genuine Merc oil on my E250 and Mannol on the wife’s B200, both transmissions worked perfectly afterward with no issues, alas the B200 has now gone but my E250 has been perfectly smooth over the 4 years since it was changed.

True, but they were supposedly transmission specialists.
