After buying my first MB (E-class estate s210) 4 weeks ago I can honestly say I'm over the moon with it. The only problem is that with such a big car the 16" wheels look a little lost in the arches!

I have been offered a set of 8.5" x 18" AMG replica alloys for a good price but I've got a couple of concerns.

1) Will the wheels fit on the car ok considering they are all 8.5" width, not staggerd width wider rears?

2) What tyre size would be suitable for these wheels?

Thankyou for any replies

Paul

I have 18' x 8.5's all round on my E280 W210. I found changing from 16's up, the rears needed new shorter wheel bolts to prevent them fouling the foot/handbrake. 235X40 tyres fit just nicely and don't make the ride too hard.

hi AMGEED

I HAVE E280 (2002) w210 also and am thinking of putting amg typeII ALLOYS.(18X8)HOW DO U FIND THE RIDE AND STEERING RESPONSE AS COMPARED TO THE ORIGINAL 16" ALLOYS.
DO U HAVE PICS OF YOUR CAR TO SHARE??

Im in the same boat it seems, i have the standard 17's on my W210, and im not sure if 18 is big enough to make a difference? but at the same time i dont want to mess with the suspension at the moment, so if i put 19's on will i be in serious tractor stance territory?

Tony they do look to small, yours looks like an avantgarde? as mine is on 18s and theres hardly any room between top of tyre and wheelarch.
