84 500SL coil resistance specs and LOUD clacking noise on startup

I probably have not driven my 107 regularly in a decade but I do try to run it on a regular bases to keep the fluids moving. I experienced two new issues.

1) A very loud clack on crank that went away after a short while. It did not sound like any lifter that I've heard but may well have been. Or or something else that required. It could also be a chain tensioner. The noise went away and did not reappear after restart. I did happen before and again was after a long lay up when the FPR failed.
2) I'm having trouble revving much past idle under load which I suspect could be a bad coil. Does anyone know what the correct resistance should be?
Thanks in advance
