'92 V140 600 SEL Harness Help

Hey E55BOF!

Thanks for the tip.

I had searched eBay; Martin was pretty specific about wanting either Beru or Bosch leads as, in his mind, they're the only ones good enough.

I've messaged the vendors to see who manufactures these parts and will report back.

Cheers,

Drew

Before you splash out on leads.

The inlet manifold gaskets are prone to leak on the 120 engine and cause a misfire.

Thanks BlackC55.

I've mentioned this to Martin and will let you know what we find.

Cheers,

Drew

I estimate 8 hours
there are connectors to the fuses althought keylocked they take some time and also to take the harness out. I am referring to the engine harness.
I did the interior harness this week and had to remove seats etc. also there are a/c panels that are a pain.
customer was charged 4600 and got windows a/c sunshade seats switches etc working as new.

So, an update on the 600:

I picked her up from Martin at Finch Motors having had the following done:

- upper engine loom replaced
- RHS MAF loom replaced (LHS had been replaced previously)
- HT leads replaced
- ignition coils replaced
- intake manifold gaskets replaced
- cooling fan temperature sensor replaced
- RHS rear ABS sensor replaced
- HT lead clips replaced (they perished in the heat)

After all that, I am glad to report that Diana is now running flawlessly.

As she effing well should.

I'm also glad to report that Martin is worthy of his reputation.

He sussed me out, my relationship with the car (i.e. I'm not interested in a disposable barge, but have made a commitment to the thing), then went ahead and treated her accordingly.

His 450 SEL 6.9 and E500 Limited stand as further testament to his passion and attention to detail.

Thanks to everyone here for the input, especially to BlackC55 for the manifold gasket suggestion and E55BOF for lead leads. In the end, Martin managed to find Bosch parts for £300 inc.

Cheers,

Drew
