    Guys,

Need a key, but one without a fob. I have disabled my original alarm and wondered if i could just buy a blank key?

    Any ideas?

So why not just order the key from the dealer or take the existing key to a key cutting place and a get a copy? don't really understand why you need to order anything from ebay?

Why would i order a key from a dealer for £2oo when I dont need the electronic transponder contained within an original mercedes fob?

I just wondered if anyone knew of a mercedes key (blank) that I could get cut at timpsons when I present the original key alongside it. ?

    Obviously lost in translation!

    Hi,
Even with the alarm disabled doesn,t your remote central locking (RCL) still work from the fob? Remote central locking is a function of the car rather than the alarm. The alarms were added in the UK, The car came out of the factory with RCL and immobiliser, the alarm was only fitted in the UK by the importers or dealers. Immobiliser and alarm are two different systerms.

I think you can only order the blade key alone? I got one from the dealer 2 years ago for 20 quid.

Have you also disabled the immobiliser? Might not start just with a blade key. The remote also disables the immobilser which is separate from the alarm.
