Friday night went out the use the car & it wouldn't start. Figured it was the usual fuel line 'O' ring prob so bullet was bitten & with the help of a friend who's a better mechanic then me it was time to use the 'O' ring kit I'd recently bought from someone on here.
When we whipped off the air intake that goes across the top of the engine & the black plastic cover plate on the top of the engine we see this in 3 of the 5 injector wells -
Figured the braided leak off line wasn't working & it being Saturday afternoon by now, I couldn't get one from the dealer. ECP sell a 1 metre length of this line but the bloke couldn't tell me if it would fit my car.
After discussing it at length we decided the thing had been like that for a while & it'd prolly be OK until Monday so we carried on with the 'O' ring job, which is a PITA but do-able until discovering the largest ring supplied, the one for the pre-filter, was clearly wrong & not thick enough to do the job. Naturally, the old 'O' ring was the only one which had actually broken in removal so I'm now fecked & carless until I can get this 95p part from the dealer on Monday.
Anyhoo, regarding the diesel in the injector reservoir:
Do they all leak like this? Is it normal?
Will a new leak off line fix it?
Worried that even if the new leak off line does drain the leaked fuel back to the fuel filter it doesn't address the cause, which may get worse.
So, really the question is, how do I fix this properly once & for all?
TIA.
