'99 SLK 200 catalytic converter

Hi,

Anyone know where i can get my hands on a universal catalytic converter for a '99 slk 200.....
Also any hints, pics or tips on fitting it would be much appreciated!!

I have always been under the impression that pattern cats were a no-no for Mercedes ...

There have been a few members that have had problems with copy-cats as it were ....

Cheers, thanks for that, I'm starting to think that you could be right, might explain why i'm having difficulty even finding universal ones...
Rang swedish/german in Dublin and they said that they "don't do them" for slk's.......

Hi Graham,
I believe that Howard has refferd you to one of my threads, If you are planning on keeping the car then take my advice and spend the extra on the OE cat, unless you can get OEM which i think is Eberspecer as aftermarket.

The cats that GSF supply and euro cars supply are normally uk manufactured which are not always upto scratch and you get a tinny sound from them.

Another thing i would suggest is to have the whole system replaced with sports cats incorporated in, there are a few members here that have done this i think ALPs has this on his C43 amg. there is a place that will make the exhaust to your spec and that includes the roar of it too, i will look up their details and repost for you.
