My car has recently developed a weird problem in that a puddle appears in the rear passenger footwell which seemingly gets worse when I drive the car but dries out slightly when the car is not being used. I also noticed that in the boot, under the floor cover that there is water in there. Any suggestions where I should be looking? Thanks

Hey I had a similar issue in my 2014 a class. It was due to the air seals in the boot/bumper which pressurize the cabin when opening and closing the doors. The seals had worn and was letting water in under the boot lining and then running into the back passenger footwell and eventually to the front passenger foot well. The seals are located behind the bumper and it seems to be a common fault with Mercedes. Worth a look to check the seals.

Hi, I got the bumper off & these vent flaps are there. the seals are very hard & brittle so I have replaced them & used a silicone bead when re-fitting (seen the tip online).

What i did find located inside the chassis cavity on both sides (inside direction from the vents toward number plate) was a bag of absorbant / foam. This bag is perforated too & has a MB Part No. A2206821730. Should these be there? What are they exactly? I have left them there for now (see pictures).
