Yup it's a pre-facelift car, on a 91/92 J plate in the pictures but date of first UK registration is Feb 2004. Although RHD it must be an import because it has no side repeaters ... wonder if the cluster is in miles/mph or km/kph?

It was taxed till September and the MOT runs out on 21st Feb.

Yup, it's an import from Japan or Hong Kong. And the sellers didn't know the difference between the two only to describe them generally in that most derogatory of terms which describes the angle of their visionary apparatus.

Also the roll bar didn't work when asked to demonstrate and the thing was running when matie arrived only for it to not start on the next attempt. When matie questioned their use of the wrong reg year in the advert they fluffed over that with some lame excuse.

Other than that...it was a nice car. :fail

Matie, a shrinking violet type from Glasgow...NOT!..was heading home to phone Trading Standards when he got in touch. Fuming from his wasted time.

Japanese Mercs are nearly always LHD (even though they drive on the left). So more likely from Hong Kong I think.

More likely to be an R129 with "R230" body conversion panels. There were a few kits around when the R230 came out ... they look quite good, but there's obviously not much you can do to make the roof like an R230's!
