A battery life

Ok so I dump things in my Ebay basket and leave, don't know why but after awhile I get deals discounts etc on them, then I buy, well daughter wanted a few bits lent her my acount, i forgot about my basket and she clicked pay all, most of stuff just tops up my stock but i recived another new Bosch battery s5008 2 weeks after fitting same, so question is how long will it last sitting in my cupboard

A good couple of years, check it's condition now and then and charge as necessary. Better if you can find a way to use it, you could always send it back.

If you fully charge it and put it somewhere cool it will last for at least as long as it would in use. Personally I wouldn't leave it on a permanent float charge just check the voltage every few months and give it a top up charge. Somewhere cool is as important as keeping it charged.

Surely the clever thing would be to send it back.

Hmmm you say that, it lost almost no charge just sitting there in cupboard.

The battery in car even though newish (vitara same as Bosch)it had been discharged once to under 5v left lights on ffs, I thought I had recovered it seamed ok

Left car for about 10days, it started but was slow

Decided as I had new unused in stock I would fit

Took other one in, charged for a few days, left 12 hours checked 12.76v and just left it, week later 12.43

It would appear to me the one discharge has efected battery

I then became so paranoid about bloody battery's and drain, I got an AA 4.8 watt solar charger, as I have no electricity fo car.

Don't know if solar charger or new battery , but moniter I fitted connected to me phone shows between 96% 100% even after 2 week

Newish battery in cupboard still show signs of very very slow discharge
