Thx for answer I have more Q? Any carbon build up? Any timing chain rattle when is cold ? Any gearbox problems?
What you MLS?

Your engine is the transverse version of the M274. The following applies to the M274 engine but should apply also to yours.

Pretty much the only common issue is thermostat failure. Unfortunately on this engine the thermostat is a complex part thst includes a heating element, and it is located at the bottom of the engine. Replacing it (parts and labour) is £700-£800 from a dealer, or around half that at a specialist. So check that the car gets to 80 degrees within 10 minutes of driving off from cold, and that the needle stays well above the 80 degrees mark throughout (when checking via the OBDII port, a healthy thermostat will show between 95 and 105 degrees, never below).

The other potential issues is carbon buildup on the intake valve due to the M270/M274 being a Gasoline Direct Injection (GDI) engine. Although, this isn't much of an issue with this particular engine model, perhaps due to Camtronic timing. That said, use of premium fuels (or fuel additives), and frequent oil changes using oil with the correct MB Spec Sheet will help prevent this. If you are concerned, you can use a combustion chamber cleaner that is applied via the intake manifold, such as Terraclean or Seafoam etc.

(Thankfully, the M270/M271 engine does not suffer from the camshaft sprocket wheels failure, a known issue with its predecessor, the M271).

#markjay THX for useful info if anyone know anything more will appreciate

The 7G+ is pretty reliable, no particular issues. On the W204 it needs an ATF change every 5 years or 77,500 miles, not sure if the change interval on the W176 is the same.

It's £400-£500 at the dealer (unless done under Service Care Plan), or £250-£350 at a specialist, so worth checking that it's not overdue.

The dual clutch transmission is essentially an automated clutch system version of the manual box

Problems with the box mainly centre around moving away slowly in traffic from standstill and there have been software updates to combat "jerkiness" be sure to test out this aspect of gearbox performance several times during any test drive

The answer to all 3 questions is: Not more than with any other engine or transmission.

EDIT - I was referring to the 7G+, if your A-Class has the 7G DCT then my comments above might not apply.

Thx all for comments
