A Class - considered opinions

I have driven only one W169 A-class and other than the lacklustre performance (low capacity diesel) it was an excellent car! My only other concern was the limited over-shoulder visibility because of the b-pillar and the front seat head-restraint.

EDIT: it was the b-pillar, not the a-pillar ;)

Highly recommended in my opinion.....especially if you have kids/clobber that comes with family life

It should do the work quite nicely. Just remember that it isnt an AMG car and if treated like a racing car will end up sounding rough and ill humoured.

Interesting point, do you think none AMG quick mercs cannot handle abuse and yet AMG models could do track days aplenty?

If so \ why \ experience?

(not disagreeing at all btw, interested to know)

AMGs are 95% the same as every other model, except that their engines and other components are more highly tuned and under more stress.

Hang on! That means the "regulars" can take more punishment, and cost less to repair if you break them! ;)

lol, hush, I was trying not to say that :D

I'm in two minds whether AMG (and brabus) kit is better engineered, or just more accepting to warranty claims when you have clearly abused it

Miro

Don't worry, it won't be thrashed. It will do about 3K miles per year.
the odd zippy get away from the lights, but in reality it will be driven very carefully and cared for.

It is replacing a 206 cc @ 13K miles from new in September 2002

Thanks to all for your comments

Looks like a nice motor.
