As part of some research and development I need to know if any of the A-Class's A140, A160 or A190 are fitted with Ignition Leads. I seem to think they are all direct or semi-direct ignition but I have been asked for a set today.

Anybody witk EPC able to find out. :)

The a class petrol engines all use a coil pack setup. (No leads)
The pack is bolted onto the cylinder head over the spark plugs with three torx screws.

Ignition coil module

Ive just experienced the 'misfiring in acceleration' problem attributed to the breakdown of the ignition coil module 'MBs own evaluation' and I am now on the search for a new one or 'working second hand one', I will update on if the problem was fixed by this.
A140 classic, Year 2000
Symtoms: Ticks over slightly lumpy, upon acceleration it is underpowered and feels like it is running on three cylinders.

Update on last post

I was lucky to have another A class in the family and so changed the Ignition module with that of a 2004 A140, and yes it solved the problem.
MB Part No : A0001501380 price 96.00 with VAT
Euro car parts No : 413220170 price 58.00 + VAT 'out of stock'
Scrap Yard ; 60.00 with no waranty.
The item is the same on the, A160, A190, A210, Vaneo 1.6 and 1.9.
Hope this helps someone out there in the space they call 'cyber'.
